Rimmel London Moisture Renew Lipstick – Quick Review

I did a quick shop in Superdrug today and picked up a few things, including this Rimmel London Lipstick. I’ve seen a few adverts on TV about this new range, Rimmel have reformulated and repackaged their ‘Moisture Renew’ range and they’ve added 10 new shades! Anyway onto the review, I picked up the shade ‘Vintage Pink’ which is a gorgeous mauve-pink colour, it’s absolutely perfect for everyday wear in autumn.

The colour is relatively long lasting, about a few hours. The formula feels very moisturizing, which I need in a lip product at the moment because my lips just die in cold weather. It’s very pigmented and the colour goes on opaque, so a little goes a long way! Overall I really love this lipstick, the colour is gorgeous and it feels great on the lips. It’s a must-have for the autumn!

Nominated For The Liebster Award?!

So I’ve been nominated for the Liebster award! I was nominated by the lovely , thank you for making my day 🙂

The Liebster Blog Award is an award for blogs with under 200 followers, and apparently  Liebster is German for “beloved” and a blog nominated for this award is “worth watching”.

I did some research on the award and by looks of it the aim of the Liebster Blog award appears to be an attempt to offer public recognition to relatively new and unknown bloggers for their blogging. Which is great considering I’ve not been blogging for long.

Nail Polish: How Everything Becomes Difficult

Am I the only person that finds everything a 1’000’000x more interesting when i’m waiting for my nails to dry? ..no? Just me? FINE THEN I DON’T NEED YOU. Anyway, I thought I would make a video demonstrating how the simplest of tasks becomes impossible. How does it become so difficult I hear you say. Well… imagine this: You’ve just painted your nails, they haven’t dried yet, and you realize that you left your ipod on the other side of the room. You walk over to your ipod and carefully pick it up, the last thing you want is to smudge your carefully painted nails. You try to select your favorite song but accidentally press on a one direction tune (don’t even ask why its on my ipod), you then have a sudden urge to go outside and play table tennis by yourself, so you then try and attempt the near impossible undertaking that is putting a jacket on with freshly painted nails. After that you go out side and play table tennis all by yourself for no apparent reason, causing your neighbor to think that your insane… A wild rake then appears and you decide to do something good for humanity for once, you then try to clear up some of the leaves but in the process of doing so you just spread the leaves out even more. Feeling ashamed and rejected you return inside, only to take your shoes off and then put them back on for some unknown reason. You then think that it would of been a great idea to make a YouTube video out of the whole thing.
True Story.

Sleek Storm Palette Review

This is the first proper eye shadow palette I’ve bought and I’m so happy that I chose this one to start off with. I was looking for a palette that was affordable but still great quality, and at £8 you can’t really go wrong with this! I had heard A LOT of hype online, so I put my faith in the internet and bought it. And I wasn’t disappointed! It has 3 matte shades (a light brown, dark brown and a black) and the other 9 are shimmery, but not disco-ball shimmery.

Here’s what that palette looks like:

ImageImage

This palette includes pretty much everything you need to create any sort of look, from smokey to natural it has it all. The two matte brown shades are also great for filling in eyebrows. The top row of shadows consists of neutral/highlighter shades and the bottom row has more smokier/evening colors.

 Here are some swatches:

Top row of shadows:

Bottom row:

I love this palette so much! The shadows are super pigmented, are quite long lasting and don’t crease easily. You can even recreate the Michelle Phan Autumn Ombre look with this palette!

Autumn Obmre look:

1. Take the pale pink colour and apply it all over the lid.

2. Now take the maroon colour next to it and put that in the outer third of your lid.

3. Using an accent brush apply the navy blue shade (3rd in from the right, bottom row) into the crease and outer V, then blend out the colour with a clean fluffy brush.

4. Pop some of the highlighter shade (2nd in from the left, top row) into the corner of the eye.

5. Apply your favorite red lippy and using that navy blue shade on the accent brush, feather it into the corners of your lips and inwards, this creates beautiful dimension to the lips.

( psst! Stay tuned to my Youtube Channel where I will soon be uploading a video on how to recreate Michelle Phans Autumn Ombre look using only drugstore products!)

Overall I think this is a amazing palette for beginners and experts! It’s so versatile, the packaging is sleek and compact and the quality of the shadows for the price is amazing. I highly recommend this to anyone who’s looking for a palette that is affordable yet still great quality.

Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge Review

Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge – £5.99

I had been on the look-out for a new foundation brush/sponge to use, so when I stumbled across this in boots I though I would give it a go.  I’m a fan of Real Techniques brushes, I own the basic eye set (which I definitely recommend) so I thought I would add this to my collection. Makeup sponges are usually used to create a light flawless base, although you can build up the coverage by dabbing/pressing the foundation. The sponge is sold as a “3-in-1 multi-functional sponge. “,  Sam Chapman (The creator of the range) demonstrated that this can be used for foundation, concealer, powder and even cream blush.Image   Rimmel London Wake Me Up Foundation – £8.99

I’ll be using Rimmel Londons Wake Me Up foundation, which is my go to foundation at the moment, I’d say its about a medium coverage, natural finish and I use about a full pump to cover my face and neck. Before I apply the foundation its a good idea to dampen the sponge, this creates a sort of barrier that stops the sponge drinking up all your product.

The Sponge has blended in the foundation very well, you cant see and streaks or blotches and it has helped blur out imperfections, it’s also really soft unlike some of the cheaper ones what feel rubbery. The sponge it-self is very easy to clean, I just use some warm water and shampoo and that tends to do the trick.

Overall I am really happy with this sponge and would recommend it to those who want a light flawless finish.
